Android beta

Ninefall needs twelve Android testers.

The Android build is finished. It is the same game that shipped on iPhone, rebuilt in Kotlin, with the puzzle engine verified move-for-move against the original. Before Google will let me put it on the store, twelve people have to be signed up to a private test for fourteen days straight. That is the whole hurdle, and it is why you are reading this.

Free, yours to keep, and free to leave. You need an Android phone and the Google account you use on it.

Four steps, about three minutes

  1. Join the Google group

Join the Ninefall Android beta group with the Google account that is signed in on your phone. No approval to wait for, and it has to be that account, because Google Play reads the group to decide who is allowed in.

  2. Opt in on your phone

Open the Play opt-in page on the phone itself and press Become a tester. If it says you are not a tester, your group membership has not landed yet. Give it a minute and reload.

  3. Ask me for your code, then redeem it

Mail contact@ninefall.app and I send a code back, usually within a few hours. Google does not tell me when somebody joins, so this is the step that has to come from you. Redeem it in the Play Store under your profile, Payments and subscriptions, Redeem code. Ninefall is $4.99 everywhere else. The code makes it zero, and the copy is yours to keep afterwards.

  4. Play it now and then, for two weeks

Stay opted in for fourteen days and open the game on a few of them. Google checks that testers really played, so five honest minutes beats twelve people who never opened it. Uninstalling is fine if you need the space. Leaving the group is the thing that restarts the clock.

What you get

The complete game, free, and yours to keep once the test is over: six worlds, 72 levels, five secret levels, the Daily Flip, One-Shot mode, nine languages. The code buys it outright at zero, so nothing expires and nothing gets taken back when the beta closes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no timers, no currency, nothing to unlock with money. Your name goes in the credits if you want it there.

To be straight with you: the iPhone version is two worlds ahead. Worlds seven and eight shipped there in September and they will follow on Android, free, the way they did on iPhone. You are testing the six-world build.

What I need back

Stay opted in for the fourteen days, and open the game on a few of them. If something breaks, or a level feels unfair, or a word reads wrong in your language, tell me at contact@ninefall.app or in the group. Blunt feedback is more useful than kind feedback. There is no form to fill in and no session to sit through.

What the game actually is

Every tile holds a number. Play one of yours onto it: the values add, the tile flips, and every lower-numbered neighbour topples after it, domino-chaining across the board. Past nine, numbers roll over, so 6 + 6 = 2. That one rule is the whole game, and it is why the greedy move is usually the wrong one. There is a real level playable on the front page if you would rather see it than read about it.

Will it cost me data or battery

The download is a few megabytes and the game makes no network requests of its own. It collects nothing: no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no account. Everything you do stays on your phone. That is the same on Android as it is on iPhone, and the privacy policy says so at greater length.

Can I leave

Any time, from the same opt-in link, or by leaving the group. It would help me if you said so rather than going quiet, because the count has to hold at twelve for the fourteen days and one silent departure restarts the clock for everybody. No hard feelings either way.

Who is asking

Thomas, and that is the entire team. Ninefall has been built in public since the start. The iPhone version is on the App Store, the press kit is on the press page, and I answer my own email at contact@ninefall.app.
